Landscape Lighting Installation

All-State Pest and and Lawn will create a beautiful landscape lighting plan for your home. Lighting makes your home more attractive and adds curb appeal.  Lighting is both aesthetic and practical. There are three basic categories of Lighting.  These Categories combine form and function. When All-State Pest and Lawn designs a lighting plan for your home, we consider:

  • Safety

  • Security

  • Aesthetics

Safety with Landscape Lighting

Firstly, Safety is an important issue for anyone.  Landscape lighting provides just that.  Most Homes have walks, paths drives and even decking that you and your friends and family use daily.  As a result, All-State Pest and Lawn stragtegically designs lighting plans that illuminate these areas. In Conculusion, these plans will ensure confidence with every step.  Safety is key for the entertaining homeowner.

Security with Landscape Lighting

Secondly, All-State Pest and Lawn considers security to be a major factor.  We design your low voltage outdoor landscape lighting with this in mind.   Home invaders typically target homes that are dark. Unfortunately, this allows them to come and go without being seen. For this reason, landscape lighting near doors, windows, and landscaped areas will increase risk factors for criminals who use these areas for cover.  Low Voltage Landscape lighting is not bright like drive way or backyard flood lights.  Traditional Flood Lighting may cause a disturbance to you or your neighbors.  On the other hand, Low Voltage Landscape Lighting is more subtle, directed, and intentional to keep you and anyone in your home safe.

Aesthetics with Landsape Lighting:

Thirdly, Curb appeal is quite literally how your home looks from your curb.   Therefore, You take pride and make huge investments into your homes curb appeal.  With landscape lighting, you can enjoy your hard work and investment through out the evening hours.  With this in mind, All-State Pest and Lawn designs and installs lighting to privide you that ability. Low Voltage Lighting makes your landscaping and the architecture of your home more dramatic. Lighting also accentuates the archetectual attributes. Techniques using spotlights, washes, and flood lighting will highlight plants, trees or even water features and pools.

Types of Landscape Lighting

There are several types of landscape lighting and each is used for a different purpose

  • Flood Lighting- Flood lights are typically the brightest of the landscape lighting family and cast light at an angle of 40 degrees or more. Because of this, they are  used to illuminate entry ways into your yard and around fences or gates.
  • Well Lighting – Well lighting fixtures are buried in the ground.  This type of fixture cast light directly vertical.  This allows light to be seen while hiding the fixture and save it from distracting from the landscape. With this in mind, these lights may be used under shrubs and other ornamentals and landscaping.
  • Spot Lighting – Spot light fixtures cast a narrower light that provides more direct but subtle illumination. Consequently, Spot lighting is used to light trees and the corners of your home.  In addition, Spot Lighting fixtures are also used in certain techniques to “Graze” the side of your home.  Grazing creates shadowing that accentuates your homes architecture.
  • Wall Washing – A wall wash fixture provides soft lighting to walls and other open spaces including landscape groupings and focal points.   Importantly, Wall wash fixtures have wide angles of light, but softer than a flood light fixtures.
  • Path Lighting- Path lights are used in flower beds and along walks and drives. Path Fixtures cast a soft glow on landscape bed edges or used to light paths and walks.  For this reason, Path fixtures can be used in many locations and not take away from other lighting techniques.
  • Downlight- Downlighting is used in commercial lighting but can be used in residential lighting.  Tree down-lighting also known as moon lighting is a technique used to cast shadows down trees.   In the same fashion, down-light ing fixtures can also be used to accentuate Pergola Posts and other architectual designs.  Newer Custom homes often come with soffit lighting which is used to downlight the architecture of a home.  Down lighting is used in conjunction with landscape lighting to provide the best in exterior illumination.
  • Bistro Lighting- Bistro lighting gets its name from the French Bistro style lighting.  These  string lighting fixtures crisscross the outdoor seating and gathering areas.  In addition, Bistro lighting can be low voltage where they are controlled by a transformer or plugged in to your standard 120v outlet.  Bistro lighting can be attached to the house and strategic poles situated around your outdoor sitting and cooking areas to provide lowlight glow.
